Chia berry jam
Updated: Feb 2
Quit buying preservative-rich jams filled with unnecessary added sugars, and make your own healthy jam instead! It's easy, I promise...
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups organic mixed blackberries, raspberries, blueberries (frozen is okay)
1 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon
1 tbsp pure maple syrup or honey
2 tb chia seeds
DIRECTIONS:
Heat fruit on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the fruit is heated through and begins to bubble. Lightly mash the blackberries with a fork (leave some berries for texture). Stir in the chia seeds, lemon juice, and maple syrup. Reduce heat to low and simmer until the berries soften (about 5 mins). Let the jam cool to room temp. Pour into a glass jar or air-tight container and store in the fridge. Stays fresh in the fridge for 1 week, or frozen for up to 3 months.
